Happy Valley hosts its only day meeting of the campaign on Sunday, with the Class Two Guangzhou Handicap (1,200m) the highlight of the meeting.
There are 10 races on the card and Owen Goulding is in the hot seat to provide an extended rundown of his selections.
Race 1 – Class Five Dongguan Handicap (1,200m)
Speedy Smartie has more weight on his back but he is in rude health and will be able to comfortably make the lead from stall seven under Karis Teetan.
Race 2 – Class Four Foshan Handicap (1,200m)
Denfield won on this card last year off a 6lb higher rating. He had a nightmare trip over course and distance last time and can bounce back to his best.

Race 3 – Class Four Huizhou Handicap (1,650m)
Sterling Wongchoy ran better than the bare result when fourth on return and will come on for the run. He is mapped to lead with Samarkand out wide and can go from pillar to post.
Race 4 – Class Four Shantou Handicap (1,000m)
Lean Master built on his return when a close third over course and distance last time and Britney Wong Po-ni takes off a very handy 7lb from stall two.
Race 5 – Class Four Hong Kong Country Club Challenge Cup (1,200m)
Brownneedsfurther put up two promising runs at the Valley last season and his recent trial suggests he is still improving. Stall three seals the deal.
Race 6 – Class Four Shenzhen Handicap (1,800m)
Hakka Radiance has finally turned the corner after his maiden Hong Kong win and he has less weight on his back up in grade and Zac Purton has been called up.
You wait 25 runs for your first win, then you take two in a row!

Race 7 – Class Three Kwangtung Handicap Cup (1,000m)
Harmony N Blessed has been set some really tough tasks this season, but he is now down in grade and has drawn barrier two. There is no better man than Purton to get him in the winner’s enclosure.
Race 8 – Class Three Zhaoqing Handicap (1,200m)
Lucky Planet only found a pair of smart ones too strong off the front over course and distance last time and now has Britney Wong taking off 7lb from a good draw.
Race 9 – Class Two Guangzhou Handicap (1,200m)
Masterofmyuniverse ran a promising race at Sha Tin on return and this strongly run race will suit him perfectly. He has drawn barrier two and remains lightly raced.
Race 10 – Class Three Zhuhai Handicap (1,650m)
King Lotus ran close in a leader-friendly race at the Valley last time and should get a better pace to aim at this time. He can sit box seat from his inside draw and pounce.
