One of the most anticipated race days will take place on Thursday, with a huge crowd expected on course at Sha Tin for the Lunar New Year meeting.
There are 11 races on the card and Jay Rooney is in the hot seat to provide an extended rundown of his selections.
Race 1 – Class Five Kung Hei Handicap (1,200m)
In a tough race to start the card, Yee Cheong Raider can continue the trend of stable transfers winning for first-season Hong Kong handler Brett Crawford despite a wide draw in gate 13.
Race 2 – Class Four Fat Choi Handicap (1,200m) – third section
Prestige Hall has been bursting to bag a breakthrough win and gets his chance here with Zac Purton jumping on.
Race 3 – Class Four Lucky Star Handicap (1,600m)
In a wide open contest, Victor Supreme looks a value chance after an unlucky defeat last time out. The step up to a mile looks ideal.

Race 4 – Class Four Fat Choi Handicap (1,200m) – second section
Kiama caught the eye flashing home from near last first up and shapes as a major improver for master trainer John Size.
Race 5 – Class Four Fat Choi Handicap (1,200m) – first section
Circuit Champion made his long-awaited debut with a slashing second and can go one better here after trialling well since.
Race 6 – Class Two Year Of The Horse Cup (1,600m)
Top Dragon should have finished closer than fifth in the Classic Mile after copping interference in the straight. He looks well placed down in the weights and from gate one.
Race 7 – Class Four Prosperity Handicap (1,400m)
Amazing Fun stormed home from near last for a narrow second last start to Amazing Partners, who boosted the form with another win last Sunday. He can go one better.

Race 8 – Class Three Yue Yee Handicap (1,200m) – second section
Australian import The Unique Star produced an excellent second on his local debut and just needs luck from gate 14 to figure second up.
Race 9 – Class Three Red Packet Handicap (2,000m)
Seraph Gabriel can enhance his Hong Kong Derby (2,000m) claims up in trip after a close second to Lucky Sam Gor over a mile.
Race 10 – Class Three Yue Yee Handicap (1,200m) – first section
Three-year-old Hot Delight was an outstanding debut winner and can strike again up in grade while down in weight.
Race 11 – Class Three Kut Cheong Handicap (1,400m)
Super Express defied a wide run without cover to score last start and he can overcome a 10lb penalty to continue his upward spiral.
