Recap by phillip woo

Following a rails run in midfield, Juneau Pride was too smart after claiming the lead 160m out for a third win from his past four starts. Eighty Light Years stayed on well for second after a prominent run. It was a return to form off five dull performances, but he was likely suited by the wet track. Keefy ran on well with one wider out to fill a placing following a patient ride fourth last from a tricky gate. It was an improved effort on a wet track. Ching ran on nicely through the centre to just miss a placing after a rails run from behind midfield. He was another to produce a season-best performance. Kaholo Angel came to win the race 200m out following a wide trip with cover behind midfield but he faded 100m out. The well-backed Storming Dragon ran on without threatening after making his run two from the rear. It was another honest performance. Helene Warrior came from last to finish next best. It was a better performance on the back of three ordinary runs following a gelding operation.

Horse No 10 VICTORY SKY (J540) A Atzeni Bumped shortly after the start.

Near the 200 Metres was momentarily crowded by KAHOLO ANGEL which lay in.

After the event, A Atzeni stated that the only explanation he could offer for the horse's disappointing performance was that it did not appreciate the "Good to Yielding" track conditions.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 11 BUCEPHALAS (K096) M Chadwick After the event, M Chadwick stated that his mount gave ground in the Home Straight and the only explanation he could provide for the performance was that it did not appreciate the "Good to Yielding" track conditions.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 12 MASTER OF ALL (H177) M L Yeung After the event, M L Yeung stated that his mount finished the race off fairly in the Home Straight which he attributed to the horse stepping up to Class 3 grade and racing on the "Good to Yielding" track.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have a continuous epiglottic entrapment.
