Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Strathpeffer had a box-seat run and after getting held up for a run until the 300m pole, he got up 80m out for a third win from 30 starts. Young Bravo ran on nicely near the inside for second after making his run five back on the fence. It was a better effort at his second career run and first since March. Audacious Pursuit ran on nicely to just snatch third after a one-off trip from behind midfield. He's building towards a win after flashing potential in one of two starts last term. Fun Together just failed to place after a wide and without cover trip travelling better than midfield from gate 10. It was another genuine performance first up for his new trainer. Patch Of Watch grudgingly gave way after dictating the run from gate nine. It was another decent performance with a step up to 1,400m. Roman Crown made good ground late without threatening after making his run one from the rear. He should find his mark shortly in this grade.

Horse No 1 FUN TOGETHER (H041) C L Chau When questioned regarding his riding tactics in the Home Straight, particularly from the 500 Metres to near the 300 Metres C L Chau explained that he was mindful that the horse was weighted with 133 lbs today, being first up from a spell and was obliged to race extremely wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

He added for this reason he was reluctant to put his mount under too much pressure in the early part of the Home Straight with a view to assisting it to finish the race off.

He said, in his opinion, FUN TOGETHER would derive benefit from its first up run today.

Horse No 8 YOUNG BRAVO (K178) J Orman Slow to begin.

When questioned regarding his riding tactics in the early part of the Home Straight, particularly between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres J Orman explained that at that time he was weighing up his options as to what run to take when held up behind STRATHPEFFER.
