Firming favourite Tycoon Resources sat third in the run before claiming the lead 300m out and edging clear to remain perfect in three starts despite both a rise in class and distance. He's got a very bright future. Refusetobeenglish ran on nicely near the inside after making his run one from the rear to grab second. He appreciated the return to his preferred Valley track. Szeryng stayed on nicely through the centre for third after a rails run from midfield. It was a good effort at his first run following a bleed in January. Friends Of Shajing made good ground late near the outside for fourth after a one-off trip from behind midfield. It was a positive performance for his new trainer. Aurio made good ground late near the inside to grab fifth after making his run at the rear from gate 12. He lost nothing in defeat carrying top weight from a bad draw. Punted late All Out For Six had little left in the tank over the last 100m after rushing forward to lead from gate seven. He's still acclimatising. Greater Bae ran on without threatening near the outside after making his run third last from gate 11.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eight : (772) - WEST KOWLOON HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters

Horse No 1 AURIO (K056) Z Purton From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Approaching the 500 Metres shifted out and was steadied to avoid GREATER BAE.

Over the final 50 Metres could not be ridden out when held up between REFUSETOBEENGLISH and ALL OUT FOR SIX.

Horse No 2 ALL OUT FOR SIX (L193) E Brown Approaching the winning post was eased when crowded between SZERYNG and AURIO which was improving between ALL OUT FOR SIX and REFUSETOBEENGLISH.

Horse No 3 CHATEAUNEUF (J219) L Hewitson L Hewitson could offer no excuse for the horse's performance.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported.

Horse No 7 SHANGHAI WARRIOR (L434) M F Poon When questioned M F Poon stated that approaching the 500 Metres his mount, which was having its first race start in Hong Kong, shifted in abruptly, resulting in him losing balance and his right foot being dislodged from his stirrup for some distance thereafter.

A warning was placed on the racing manners of SHANGHAI WARRIOR.

Horse No 8 TYCOON RESOURCES (L234) Y L Chung On jumping became unbalanced when bumped.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 10 FRIENDS OF SHAJING (K202) C L Chau Approaching the 500 Metes was steadied and shifted out to avoid SHANGHAI WARRIOR.

Horse No 11 SPICY GOLD (H440) M L Yeung M L Yeung reported that approaching the 500 Metres he was obliged to check his mount to avoid FRIENDS OF SHAJING when that runner shifted out to avoid SHANGHAI WARRIOR.

He added that after this incident SPICY GOLD failed to run on thereafter.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of SPICY GOLD, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, SPICY GOLD will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 12 REFUSETOBEENGLISH (K362) K C Leung K C Leung was fined the sum of $7,500 for returning 3 lbs overweight.

Bumped at the start.
