Recap by phillip woo

Firming favourite Mr Energia settled one off behind midfield before darting to the lead 200m and proving too smart for a fourth win from 16 starts. Blazing Wind stayed on well for second after sitting third with cover in the run from gate eight. It was a solid effort up in grade after a last-start win at his first start on this surface. Giant Leap kept on well for third after a wide trip without cover from midfield. It was his best effort from three starts over the dirt 1,200m. Fatal Blow kept on one paced after chasing the leader from gate 11. It wasn't a bad effort at his first start on the surface. New Forest just held his ground settling fourth and one off the fence after getting headed for the lead 800m out by Otokomae. He's better suited over a mile trip. Gummy Gummy made only a mild bid after a wide trip with cover from just worse than midfield. It was only a shade better effort at his second run for his new trainer this term.
