Racing Incident Report
Race Six : (240) - MIDDLE HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1000Meters
Horse No 1 BRAVE STAR (G268) C Y Ho Approaching the 500 Metres was steadied when crowded between WE ARE HERO which shifted in slightly and LUCKY EIGHT (H T Mo) which shifted out before being corrected by its rider.
H T Mo was reprimanded and advised in similar circumstances he would be expected to react sooner than what he did on this occasion.
C Y Ho reported that after this incident his mount failed to run on.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 HORSEPOWER (J431) L Ferraris Near the 750 Metres was steadied to avoid AKERMANIS GOLD when being shifted to the outside of that runner to obtain a position on the stand rail.
Near the 150 Metres was eased and shifted to the inside of FAST RESPONDER to obtain clear running.
Horse No 4 SKY TRUST (J161) E C W Wong Approaching the 100 Metres was momentarily crowded by HORSEPOWER which shifted in.
Horse No 5 WE ARE HERO (G207) J McDonald Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 STELLAR EXPRESS (J186) B Avdulla Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 FAST RESPONDER (J295) M Guyon In the early stages got its head up when being shifted behind STELLAR EXPRESS to obtain cover.
After being shifted to the inside of STELLAR EXPRESS near the 300 Metres lay out for some distance thereafter.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 PEGAS (L075) M Chadwick Near the 250 Metres became unbalanced when racing tight to the outside of STELLAR EXPRESS (B Avdulla) which shifted out.
B Avdulla was advised to exercise more care.

Horse No 12 STARRY SHOW (L074) K Teetan In the early stages got its head up when being shifted behind runners.
Horse No 13 SPARKLING FELLOW (K175) M F Poon Jumped only fairly.
Between the 450 Metres and the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the inside of WE ARE HERO.

Stellar Express led from gate 13 and kept on gamely for a third win from over the straight 1,000m from 27 starts. Fast Responder couldn't reel in the winner after a prominent run near the stands side from gate 12. He is always a chance over the straight 1,000m. Punted late Lucky Eight stayed on nicely to just take third after sitting fifth in the run on the far side from gate three. He's given a decent sight both times over the straight 1,000m from five starts this term. Horsepower just won a battle for fourth after making his run three from the rear from gate six. It was a better effort following a downgrade and return to the straight 1,000m. Sparkling Fellow ran on steadily to just miss fourth travelling behind midfield on the far side from gate two. It was another honest effort over the straight 1,000m. Pegas grudgingly gave way after prompting the pace on the stands side from gate 14. It was a better effort.
